buying groups Solidarity (GAS) are buying groups starting from a critical approach consumption and want to apply the principle of equity and solidarity with their purchases. The criteria that guide the choice of suppliers refers to the quality of the product, the total environmental impact (local products, organic foods or equivalent, fully recyclable or returnable packaging), transparency and proper business of the producer. The story of Buying groups began in 1994 in Bicester (Parma) and continued in 1996 when it published the "Guide to the critical consumption" which provides information on the behavior of the leading companies in order to drive consumer choice. In 1997 the network was created purchasing groups. On November 5, 2007 Report of the Commission of the Senate adopted an amendment to the law relating to financial aspects of the gas tax, which clarifies the fact that they are purchasing and distribution to the members of the GAS and is "non commercial". Are defined as "groups of individuals united purchase a non-profit association set up to carry out collective purchase of goods and distribution thereof, without application of any charge only to members, with ethical, social solidarity and environmental sustainability in direct implementation of the objectives of the association.
